How to forward calls on BSNL when you’re busy or don’t answer

Dial **004*[number]# from your BSNL phone and press call. BSNL will then forward calls to that number only when you’re busy, don’t answer, or are unreachable. To turn it off, dial ##004#.

Codes to be verified with BSNL before publishing

The codes

Replace [number] with your assistant’s number, which you’ll find in the app under Go live. Pick one line, or set each case separately.

All three cases at once **004*[number]#
Only when your line is busy **67*[number]#
Only when you don’t answer **61*[number]#
Only when your phone is off or out of range **62*[number]#

Want more rings before the assistant picks up? Dial **61*[number]**30#. The last number is seconds: 5 to 30.

On some older BSNL plans forwarding has to be switched on first. Call BSNL care if the code is refused.

Or set it in your phone’s settings

1 Open the Phone app and tap ⋮ then Settings.
2 Tap Calling accounts or Supplementary services, then Call forwarding. Names vary by phone.
3 Pick your BSNL SIM, then Voice calls.
4 Set When busy, When unanswered and When unreachable to your assistant’s number. Leave Always forward off.

On iPhone

Use the dial code, not Settings

iPhone’s Settings › Phone › Call Forwarding sends every call away. Keep it off. Use the code instead, so your phone still rings first.

1 Open Phone and go to the Keypad.
2 Type **004*[number]# and tap call.
3 Wait for the “Registration succeeded” message.

Check it works

Give yourself a missed call

From another phone, call your number and don’t pick up. The assistant should answer, and a WhatsApp summary should arrive within seconds. The app marks you Live when it sees the call.

Turn it off

Cancel forwarding

Busy / no answer / unreachable ##004# All forwarding ##002#

Or pause the assistant from the app and leave forwarding as it is. [What callers hear while the assistant is paused]

BSNL forwarding questions

Does BSNL charge for forwarded calls?

Forwarded calls usually count as outgoing calls on your plan, and most unlimited plans include them. Check your plan or ask BSNL.

I dialled the code and got an error.
